何一滔醫師榮獲2012[防盲領域傑出服務獎]

恭賀! 双眼明眼科何一滔醫師榮獲2012釜山APAO/SOE眼科醫學會[防盲領域傑出服務獎](Outstanding Service in Prevention of Blindness Award)!! 

Dr. Ho Yi-Tau is one of the pioneers in the field of Phacoemulsification Surgery in Taiwan. In the 1980’s, he performed the small-incisional phaco-surgery during it’s very initial stage and he introduced the technique to the domestic colleagues. He was enthusiastic about educating and has participated in educational programs with seminars and workshops in regional hospitals. In the meantime, his concepts of surgical techniques were discussed and acknowledged by the top associates in the same field. Dr. Ho’s idea and work were spread through out the country.

Refractive Surgery was one of the specialties of Dr. Ho. He had fully developed and matured his technique on refractive surgery. His research interests also includes myopia, presbyopia, and AMD treatments.

In 1993, Dr. Ho was the founder the “Phaco Club” in Taiwan. During these time, he imparted his experience to other colleagues and young Ophthalmologists. He is also a committee member of the Ophthalmologic Society of Taiwan. Dr. Ho is always a driving force in innovating technology and application of education of the junior doctors.

Dr. Ho is enthusiastic about activities for public welfare. He joined the volunteer staff (VF) of ORBIS, Taiwan Association for the Blind (TAB) and Dharma Drum Mountain Foundation (DDMF). He also leads a team devoted to the charity of providing surgery for poverty villages and regions in Asia. He trained local doctors for the promotion of the prevalence of high quality surgery.

Using his medical expertise, Dr. Ho has actively participated in emergency medical care and volunteer work in the disasters and poor areas. He visited Sichuan earthquake area and Xinjiang area frequently in recent years.

Dr. Ho Yi-Tau is running three eye clinics with his experienced team now in Taiwan. He has gained not only a successful business but also a good reputation.
